This patent sale could have significant implications for companies like Intel, TSMC, and Global Foundries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last Thursday, Onesta IP acquired two more patents from ATI Technologies (US9448930B2 and US9116809B2). These patents are part of the same family as the one Onesta is already using to target Nvidia and Qualcomm in ongoing litigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You might recall the transaction from our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/greyb.com\/blog\/november-2024-patent-transactions\/?utm_campaign=IP%20counsel%20-%20Newsletter%20-%20Oorja&amp;utm_source=hs_email&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz-8y35FbHNf9VR8ZJBDl5pws_shv5h7u_IokjST15YV-8jueQ4NIzWl55wtlj2b8y9-sLEgp\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">November newsletter<\/a>, where over 100 patents moved from ATI to Onesta. These patents are part of that portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What\u2019s concerning is that these patents cover key technologies in computer graphics, semiconductor architectures, memory management, and visual display systems. While the current litigation focuses on graphics processing, our analysis suggests the patents could extend into areas that might impact your products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adding to the urgency, the case has been filed in the Western District of Texas before Judge Alan D. Albright, known for its fast litigation timelines.
