Posted Thursday November 14, 2013 --

Tatyana Tadenev recently completed this stunning sweater using her own design and our 2-ply Fine Nettle yarn.

The stitch she used for the body of the sweater is a variation of “seed stitch”: 1 row knit, purl; 2 row knit the knitted, and purl the purled stitches; 3 row – purl the knitted, and knit the purled.

I asked Tatyana about her experience in knitting and designing, and she replied, “I learned to knit and crochet from my Grandmother when I was little. She encouraged me to push the boundaries, and look for ways to express myself. She loved to experiment with anything new, and disliked monotony. Hers was a precious gift, and it still brings me joy and satisfaction create account .

Tatyana is planning to write a book about her Ukrainian childhood, her grandmother, and the things she learned from her. To the right is another of Tatyana’s designs, her “Art Nouveau Dress”, which she worked in Irish crochet using various unusual silk yarns from Habu Textiles.

And using very fine linen and silk yarn (again from Habu Textiles) she created the “Irish Dream Top,” shown in the photograph below.

Thank you Tatyana for sharing your inspiring work with us!
